The cuidhe chrom

Adam sent this picture of himself to Seton Gordon in 1942. It was taken on the Watson family holiday the summer before and 12 years old Adam makes reference to the snow wreath visible in the picture in the distance to the left of him. The snows of the Cuidhe Chrom in Corrie Cas lay well into the summer months brefore breaking up and melting. In recent years, due to climate change, the snows have barely lasted into July in any year. Adam has been fascinated by snow all his life and has observations going back to 1938. © Adam Watson
