Decoy osprey

This expanded foam osprey was used as a decoy in early attempts to attract osprey to settle in new nesting territories in Scotland. It didn't work particularly well here but has been used elsewhere with great success. The prominent white stripes on the 'shoulders' of the model - when seen from above - seem to be a key feature.
