Heading for the hils

Woollen gear has largely been replaced by sythetic and goretex these days. Adam admires the ptarmigan for its ability to survive in the harshest of climates. Its feathers trap an insulating layer of air against its body to keep it warm - and our layered clothing acts in the same way.
