Leather survey case

Leather survey case such as this were carried as standard kit by field geologists. They are made of thick stiff leather and are the size of the fieldslips used to record durvey data. Held round the neck by a strap, they could be opened and and information and observations entered onto the slips. Ben Peach frequently adorned the backs of his slips with sketches of the landscape and wildlife around him.
